Young People Should Vote

I really think that young people should be allowed to vote. If it's serious matters like the Lisbon Treaty, it will decide our future. People from about 16 up should be allowed to vote as we're mature enough to decide what we want when we're about this age.
Adults think they know what we want when we don't want what they think at all. They are deciding our future and we should be allowed to decide what we want our future to be.
If the vote turns out to be "yes" for the Lisbon Treaty, then Ireland will have to go to war, we will have to pay higher taxes, etc. That won't happen for these adults but it will happen for us, the younger generations. We won't get a choice. If the vote is "yes" and Ireland has to go to war, it's us, the children and teenagers of today that will have to go to war in the future. It's us that will have to pay higher taxes, etc.
France and Germany didn't get a choice in the Lisbon Treaty. It's up to us in Ireland to vote "no" to stay neutral as we don't want to get involved in any wars, we don't want to pay higher taxes. The cost of living has already risen far beyond our imaginations, and still, it keeps rising. Taxes are already high enough. We don't want to pay more money. We must also stand up for countries such as France and Germany who didn't get a choice in the matter.
