MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

-I sing in a happy birthday tune-
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU-OO!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!

Okay, I think I got my songs a bit mixed up. LOL! So....

-sings- MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

That's better! LOL!

Do you like the new layout on my blog and the new songs on my playlist? Please comment and tell me if I should change them.

I'm going to change the name and description on my blog because it's not really about Maximum Ride any more. LOL!

I won't change the URL though so if anyone favourited my blog or anything, there's nothing to worry about.

I've also added a few new polls to my blog if you'd like to check them out.

Also, it turns out that I broke my wrist while in Germany and that I probably made it worse by going on the rides at the theme park there. Oh well. At least I had fun!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Happy New Year!!!

I'M BACK!!!

HI!!!

I'm back from my weekend school trip to Germany. It was brilliant!!! I had such a great time.
Except for when I chipped a piece off my wrist ice-skating on Saturday which is still really sore. I went to A&E on Monday to get it checked out and my arm is now in a plaster cast and it still hurts and now itches like mad!

I told my class for months that they won't believe how loud and mad I'll be when we go to the theme park on Sunday 14th December. Needless to say, they believe me now. Not only did I get on the biggest maddest rides, I took off my scarf sling and went on the rides, knowing that I could have a badly sprained ligament or a broken wrist.

Do you think I'm stupid, funny or just plain mad?

Here's some of the rides I went on in the theme park with my chipped wrist:

Black Mamba

I got on this one twice, would have gotten on three times if the didn't stop me from getting on 'cause my arm was tied in my scarf like a sling.

Mystery Castle:

I got on the sort of drop zone ride in this twice. My friend hung out of my sore arm walking through the place 'cause she's scared of the dark and was worried about something or someone jumping out to scare her. It was almost pitch black inside.

Talocan:

Only one other girl out of the six of us got on this ride with me. The rest took pictures and recorded us on it feeling scared by just looking at the ride and thinking I'm crazy, getting on it.

When I got off it, I told them it wasn't fast enough and didn't flip us upside down enough. They were pretty shocked when they heard me say that and thought I was even crazier then!

This is a video of the ride from Youtube:

Here's the video of my friend and I on it:

Keep looking at this side of the screen for my friend and I >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>^^^

You can't see our faces or anything though - Phew! I'm second from the end and no doubt you'll make out which one is me by the big baggy bluish-grey tracksuit bottoms I'm wearing.

We also went on a double decker carousel/merry-go-round for a laugh.

The second last thing was IMax, a cinema company which had a huge simulator inside a big gold dome. The screen was right over our heads so we were looking at it in front of us and above us while a cartoon film played where we're meant to be going to Atlantis and the ride shook to make it seem as if you're falling and things like that. It was really cool!

Here's the film we saw. I'm sorry this isn't a very good quality, I got it off Youtube:

On Friday, we arrived around 11am in Dusseldorf and went to the Christmas markets there. That night, we never had the disco in the end. We went to the supermarket Rewe next to our hotel and got really cheap food and drinks.
One girl dressed up as Santa and kept bugging the three teachers by trying to talk to them.
They kept ignoring her and looking at stuff on shelves, saying things like "I don't know you! Get away from me Jane (fake name)! I'm ignoring you! Leave me alone!"
It was so funny!

When we came back, we were split into groups and had to introduce each other and sort of played the name game.

On Saturday, we went to more Christmas markets and some shops around Koln after visiting the cathedral there. The pictures the teachers took of us standing on the steps outside the cathedral are hilarious!

Some German guy just ran up, jumped in front of us for our class photo and ran off when we shouted at him that he's not part of our class so he can't be in the picture with us!
I couldn't stop laughing when that happened. I'm one of the few who has pictures of that happening 'cause my teacher kept taking photos with my camera then. Unfortunately, I can't post them because I agreed not to do that before the trip.

The cathedral was beautiful and absolutely huge. You should have seen the height!

Later that day, we went to the Lindt chocolate factory. For those of you who don't know, Lindt is a big fairly expensive brand of chocolate, even here in Ireland.

My friend and I got separated from the class for a while there which was pretty nerve-wracking as it was our first time there.

Luckily, we found them in the shop downstairs. I got most of the Christmas presents for my family in there.

We got the private bus back to the hotel. The journey took two hours.

We had spicy chicken wings and drumsticks with chips which weren't spicy at all... well at least not to me.
One friend warned me that they're really hot and she didn't like them because of that when I sat back down at our table with two wings and one drumstick (What?! I was hungry!).
A few minutes later, another friend barely ate one chicken wing and couldn't stand how spicy they were and started gulping down water.

She just looked at me in shock when I ate all three pieces of chicken without even a sip of water or one chip to get rid of the spice from my mouth!

We went ice-skating right after the meal.

I stepped out onto the ice and barely moved ten feet, holding the wall for balance, when I fell flat on my back with my arm out, hurting my wrist. I was eventually able to get up, moved a couple of feet and fell the exact same way, hurting my wrist again.
I called my friend over to help me about halfway around the rink, after I slipped and slided my way along the wall to get that far.
She pulled me out by my sore wrist - so painful! and I fell almost straight away. I kept falling every time I tried to get back up.
She tried to pull me up, I was okay for a second, then I slipped, catching my legs around her ankles and making her fall on top of me across my legs.

My wrist started hurting even worse and I got my teacher to look at it as soon as I got out of the rink.
It was really badly swollen. I had a huge lump on the back of my hand and wrist.
My teacher had to get bandages and strap it up herself as there were (unusual as it was) no paramedics in the place.

Everyone was amazed I didn't cry, moan or look for attention or pity when I got hurt even though I was in heaps of pain.

When we got back to the hotel later, my teacher came to our room to look at my wrist. She left to get me some painkillers as it was really sore.
We heard a girl from our class talking to the teacher in the hallway as she left the door wide open. The girl kept bugging the teacher for a painkiller 'cause she fell once on the ice and had a slight headache from everyone shouting.

My friend and I just looked at each other and burst out laughing when we heard what the teacher shouted at her.
It was something like "I've got a girl in there with a sprained or broken wrist! She's in a lot more pain than you so just shut up! She needs painkillers more than you!". Needless to say really, that shut her up moaning about little pains.

I really think this post is well long enough. LOL! So, before I go I have one question for you:

After reading this post, do you think I'm brave, funny or just plain crazy?

I'm Going... But I'll Be Back.

Okay... this is it! I'm going on that trip to Germany, my first trip outside Ireland in 10 or 11 years!

I'm really looking forward to it! Like most of my class, I'm looking forward to the theme park most!!!

I won't be on here until Monday or Tuesday though. I doubt I'd get the time to go on the internet in Germany, never mind that, I don't know if I can even get near a computer there!

Anyway, I'll miss everyone while I'm gone, my family, friends... but hopefully I'll be having too good of a time to dwell on that.

I better go, it's 9:15pm already and I need to finish packing my bag and get some sleep.

German Trip!!!

I won't be here from the 12th - 14th December because....

I'M GOING CHRISTMAS SHOPPING IN GERMANY WITH MY CLASS!!!!

We leave at 6am on Friday 12th December so I'll have to be up really early - yikes!

We arrive in Dusseldorf and go to the Christmas markets - which are meant to be really good.

We go to our hotel later in the day and I think my teacher organised a disco for us that night.

On Saturday 13th December, we will visit a famous cathedral and a chocolate factory! We're meant to get free chocolate going around there - mmm! chocolate -imitates Homer Simpson drooling- LOL!

We might go to more Christmas markets and on Saturday evening, we will go ice skating - Yay!

Finally, on Sunday, we go to Phantasia theme park! This is meant to be one of the best theme parks in Europe. I looked it up and it definitely looks like it. I am definitely getting on some of the biggest maddest rides to prove to my class just how mad and loud I am! LOL! They might start screaming on some of the rollercoasters and things there but I'd just be sitting there laughing, shouting and having a great time! LOL!

I know I posted the link for the theme park in my last post but in case any of you didn't see it, I'll just post it again.

http://www.phantasialand.de

We leave later on the Sunday and arrive back in Ireland at 11pm.
Unfortunately, by the time we get our bags and get home from the airport, it might be after 12am or 1am, maybe after 2am or 3am for some people who live a good bit away.

I hope we don't have to go into school the next day, at least not early because we'll be wrecked with tiredness after everything we did on Sunday and the plane journey back.

Oh! I almost forgot! Because I'm going with my German class to learn more about Germany and improve our vocabulary, we have to speak in German for the whole weekend trip! It's gonna be fun! Just kidding. LOL!

So, that's my trip to Germany for you. I won't be here at all that weekend. I don't know about Monday 15th December either though 'cause I'll be pretty tired.

I think this post is already long enough so I better stop talking or you better stop reading! Stop it! Now! I'm warning you, stop reading! Just kidding. OMG! I really need to stop talking. Oh well, I'm in a good mood for the first time in ages. -I hit myself in the head- Stop talking! LOL!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, now I've calmed down. I just felt like screaming 'cause I'm a bit, well really stressed out. Wow! That feels better now! LOL!!!

Did anyone ever study for ages for a test, then nothing you studied comes up at all? It's really annoying, it just happened me AGAIN today!

Maybe I'll post something funny soon to try and keep up a good mood....

Oh yeah! My school trip to Germany is on December 12th. Just 10 days now! I can't wait for it! We'll be going to the Christmas markets, ice skating, a chocolate factory, supposedly one of the best theme parks in Europe. Oh! My teacher is even organising a disco in our hotel for us one of the nights!!!

Here's the link for the theme park we're going to in Germany:

http://www.phantasialand.de

Unfortunately, I'll be gone for that whole weekend, though....

I have to be in the airport by 6am on the Friday morning and we don't arrive back till 11pm on the Sunday night! I can't believe they want us to go to school the next day, with where some of us live, we'll only be getting a few hours sleep. Luckily, well maybe unluckily for me, I live near the airport. When I say unluckily for me, I mean I might have to go into school the next day because of that. :(

Okay, I think this post is long enough now. Oh! Um........... FOOOOOOOOOD!!!

My granny has the dinner ready. Sausages, turnips and potatoes - yum! or lecker I should say 'cause I have to practise my german. LOL!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!

OMG! I am so happy right now! Things are finally starting to go right for me!

1) Dark is back!

2) No one's really given out to me yet.

3) I'm only in school from 10:30-12:30 on Thursday.

4) I've no school on Friday and my granny's friend is coming down from Drogheda.

5) My english teacher understands everything and is letting me have as long as I like to do the essays.

6) I might get to go out with my friends for the first time since Halloween!

7) My uncle is home from America for a couple of weeks and we had loads of laughs when my cousins came over yesterday.

Basically, for the first time in ages, everything is going right for me!

Here's some funny videos to celebrate! I know they're a bit random, but I'm just in a funny mood 'cause I'm so happy!

These videos are some of the funniest bits from The Producers:

These videos are from Blazing Saddles, another Mel Brooks film:

Alter, I know you will like this one!

This is from See No Evil, Hear No Evil:

This is from Silver Streak:

For the grand finale, a clip from Young Frankenstein, yet another Mel Brooks film.

Hope you liked the videos!

Now mum is screaming at me in front of my granny and ruining my good day! Ugh!!!

Really Funny Star Wars Song!!!

Who likes Star Wars?

Just kidding. The guy in this video is great! LOL! He put words to theme music from different movies. You have to watch it. It's hilarious! Especially when he imitates a wookiee!

Hope you enjoyed that video!

I'll try to post another funny video or something like that soon to try to keep everyone's spirits up 'cause I'm not the only one who's really stressed out here.

I have an idea what videos I'll post next, I'm sure some of you will love them!

Me Singing Terribly - YIKES !!!

I was going to post some videos of myself singing for weeks now but I kept deciding against it as it was too embarrassing and my voice kept (and still does) come out really weird and sort of robotic when it's on my phone or camera.

Nevertheless, I'm feeling a bit reckless at the moment (LOL!) so I'm posting these videos while I'm in the mood. I hope they work. Please comment, even though I know they're terrible and there's a lot of noise in them. Even if you think my singing is terrible, I always prefer to know the truth so please comment with truthful answers about my singing.

This first video is of me singing the chorus to 'Nothing At All'. There's Nothing At All good about this video. LOL! Seriously, it's not too good, even though everyone at home says I'm good at singing it.
There's a lot of sort of static or something in this, so it's a little bit hard to hear me.

The next video is of me singing the same song, it's a bit clearer but I mess up on a few notes.

The last video is of me singing 'I Believe I Can Fly'. A bit ironic, do you think ? After all, my name is The Girl Who Could Fly. LOL!

Here's a picture of my infamous Christmas cake shaped hat, as you must all know about by now. I'm thinking of wearing it out early this year, maybe some time around the start of December.

Get Well Soon Grandad !

My grandad went into hospital on Sunday night as he had a mild stroke that afternoon. I only heard that it was a stroke yesterday morning. My mum left me waiting for ages and she only told me what it was because I was too tired to get up for school!

I visited him earlier today and he kept laughing at a patient in a bed across from him because his pjs looked like overalls/dungarees! I've heard that he keeps slagging the nurses aswell!

He's obviously getting better now as he had a lot more energy aswell, but he might not be let out of hospital this weekend.

I'd just like to say, we're all here for you grandad and we really hope you get better soon.

I better go and make your card now....

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I'm just feeling a little mad at the moment.

I'm in the middle of my mid-term break at the moment and I'm going out trick or treating as a pirate (har-har!) on Friday with my friends. We must look like a right trio when we go out, a pirate, a fairy and a witch !
Our height and all might make us look weird, oh well, if we were able to get into a film as under 15s then maybe, just maybe, we won't look too silly going around dressed up for halloween!

Anyway, if some of you were wondering, the talent show my class organised went really well last Friday, I forgot my camera so I couldn't get any pictures. The hall looked great! We got to wear our own clothes in (oh yeah!!!) but we had to wear some small costume thing like fairy wings (which is what I wore in).
The acts were brilliant! Unfortunately, there was a problem with the music about halfway through the show but we sorted it out really quick and everyone loved the talent show!

We got our teacher who's going on maternity leave up on the stage with our class at the end of the show in front of over 100 people to give her some presents! She got really embarrassed. It was so funny!
Then we couldn't find our other L.C.V.P. teacher, but gave him some wine and chocolates at the end of the show after most people left. We didn't quite get the reaction we wanted.
After all, when we gave him the stuff he cursed pretty loud and asked what the stuff was for, instead of saying thanks or anything like that. LOL!

Guess what?!

It snowed for ages earlier today, well it was more sleet but I still hope we actually get some snow this year! That would be so cool! Get it? Cool? Okay, stupid joke.
It's freezing anyway, about 2-3 degrees Celsius in October!!! Very cold for this time of year here.
Most likely it's because of global warming or something like that. Stop dumping your rubbish people! One of the slogans that won in a competition in school last year was "Don't be bitter, bin your litter!". Okay, I can't believe I just thought of school while I'm off!

Anyway, I better go now.

Sorry about the long post.

I'll try to post some pictures or videos soon to make things a bit more interesting!

We see the difference in it every day now.

My cheek moves when I talk or smile now which it didn't do before so it's definitely coming back now !

I'm so happy that my face is almost back to normal now. I can almost smile without looking weird and I can eat and drink without making a mess ! It's great !

Will I Ever Get Better ?

I've had bells palsy (half of my face is temporarily paralysed) for a week now and I finished the medicine today but it doesn't seem to be much better.

I still can't eat or drink right. It's even hard to sleep as I can't close my left eye fully !

I hope I didn't get the medicine too late or this could stay for 6 months !

I found out that a few people had it for a week and a half to two weeks so hopefully that's the most it stays with me.

At the moment, it hurts to touch any part of the left side of my face. I really really hope this means that the nerves are coming back now as they were kind of dead so that I'll be able to eat and drink easily and get a good nights sleep.

With a bit of luck, this will go in the next week or so.

Tomorrow is My Birthday ! And It's Not Looking Good...

My birthday is tomorrow, October 1st.

It won't be so good though 'cause I went to the doctor earlier and found out I've got bells palsy - It's where you've got temporary paralysis in one side of your face. I can't even smile properly or close my eyes fully. It's really annoying.
I have to go into school with this tomorrow aswell. I'm not looking forward to it though.

My friends weren't able to go out for my birthday, even though we'd planned it for ages.

I've also got to make a bunch of posters for L.C.V.P. tomorrow to advertise the talent show, which needless to say, I haven't got done. I've also got to do another question for L.C.V.P. and maths and Irish homework. I couldn't do the maths and I don't think I done the Irish right.

For once, I'm actually not looking on the bright side 'cause I can't see any bright side to this.

I started off by thinking that this would be the best birthday ever and was looking forward to it. Now it's turning into the worst birthday ever. Maybe I'll try to look on the bright side because things can't possibly get any worse.

2 Days Till My Birthday !!!

My birthday is on Wednesday 1st October and I'm really looking forward to it.

Even though it will be embarrassing when my cousins come down and I'll have everyone singing happy birthday to me, etc.

Oh well, while they're singing "Happy birthday to you", I might start singing "Happy birthday to me". LOL !

I'm not going to the cinema or anything with my friends on our day off school today, even though we started planning it about a week or two ago and I reminded them in school nearly every day.

I might be going to a funfair to go on some cool rides in an hour or two today to make up for that.
Hopefully that will be fun and I won't feel sick afterwards. LOL !
I never feel sick after any rides anyway. I can go upside down on rides which my step dad would never go on. LOL !

I surprised loads of people by going on rides which they thought I'd never go on in my life. Maybe I'll surprise them again tonight !

If I can get pictures of any of the rides I was on, I'll try to upload them. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be going on any rollercoasters with loops or anything so there isn't much point in putting those on.

I hope I have a good time tonight and I'll post again soon to let you know how it went.

Is It Even Possible to Get This Much Homework ?!

The answer to this question is..........yes.

Since last Thursday, I've gotten :

1)Maths exam question
2)Maths homework from book
3)English essay on Elizabeth Bishop, titled "Elizabeth Bishop - A Personal Response"
4)A design page for a puppet of a ballroom dancer I'm making in art
5)About 5 posters for the school talent show
6)Write out answers to questions for Irish oral exam next year
7)Learn a German picture sequence for an oral test tomorrow - Yikes !

Anyone want to swap places with me ?

So far I've got the maths and half of a poster and design page done as I'm waiting to get pictures of ballroom dancers off my friend tomorrow.
